Last week went by so quickly and we had too much to do to be able to make time for cooking and blogging 🙂 That is just how it is sometimes. We are both looking forward to Christmas and a time when there is less work so there will be time for other things.
So, at the weekend we went down to Skåne where I (Sofi) come from. We took the bus after work on Friday and arrived in Helsingborg in the evening. We stayed with my sister and Tommy on Friday evening. Everyone was tired after a long work week so we just relaxed, made pizzas and talked.
In the morning we took the train to Malmö. We checked in to the hotel we were staying at on Saturday evening. The reason we went to Malmö was that one of Sofi’s friends was having her 30th birthday party on a boat 🙂 It was a day party so we went there early in the afternoon. Helene had made very good food, great for vegetarians and we enjoyed a lot of food, wine, cake and even some stand-up 🙂 We had a great time and Jason got to meet two more old friends of mine. We all went to school together and we have known each other for more than 14 years now.
After having spent the whole afternoon on the boat the party continued at a bar in Malmö where we had drinks. After continuing on to another bar we went home to our hotel and fell asleep quite quickly. Such a great day, thanks to Helene ❤
The next day we enjoyed a nice, long breakfast at our hotel before we took the train back to Gothenburg.
Today we both had a very long work day and neither of us really felt like cooking anything special. So we made our quick Asian salad and some breaded tofu. The perfect dinner for a Tuesday. The rest of the week is also a bit busy but we hope to have some time to make some nice dinners towards the end of the week 🙂

Like you all know by now, we love pasta :). Today we made pasta sheets and used them to make cannelloni. The weather right now in Sweden isn’t very inspirational and it has been dark outside for weeks. A new week and another dinner 🙂
This recipe is very simple and quick to make. We like to use root vegetables in different ways and in this recipe we used sweet potatoes.
Sweet potatoes are a very good source to get carbohydrates. They also contain a lot of different vitamins as well as copper, iron, and potassium. At the same time they are extremely versatile, you can roast them, mash them, or grill them. Continue reading
Another weekend gone and one week closer to Christmas. Christmas is Sofi’s favourite holiday (mostly becuase of all the eating). So she is really looking forward to December.

Even though I (Sofi) eat meat and fish occasionally, it has been much more seldom in the past two and a half years and I really enjoy a (for the most part) meat-free diet. Something that I really love is vegetarian Indian dishes and sometimes I rather eat a vegetarian option than a meat dish when I go to an Indian restaurant. When you exercise a lot, you never want to feel too hungry between meals or not have enough energy to sustain you. With these bars, we think we have our favourite do-everything bars! We take them to work with us to have as snacks, eat them in the morning before a pre-breakfast run/ride, take them on the bike with us, and eat them after a workout before getting home to a recovery meal, among other things. This weekend we went down to Sofi’s parents in Skåne (in the south of Sweden) to celebrate her brother’s birthday and see her family.
On Saturday morning we started with a run around the lake where Sofi’s parents live. It was a very nice and steady run. Both of us are running the Gothenburg Half Marathon in May next year and want to make sure we keep up the running throughout the winter. Continue reading
This pie is extremely simple to make and incredibly delicious. Jason’s mum used to make him this type of pie when he lived in England and today he wanted that again 🙂 You can use whichever type of onion you like; leek, spring onion, red onion, and so on.
